Veteran Stylist Establishes New Salon in Downtown Stevensville

While her new salon is in the space that used to be the home of Black Arsenal in downtown Stevensville, the only ammunition Jessica Cross needs comes routinely and largely unsolicited from clients who have been with her for years no matter where she has plied her trade.

Jessica and her husband Matt Cross, who is the Water Treatment Plant Operator for the City of Bridgman, are owners of the new Kendall Lucille Hair Company at 5711 St. Joseph Avenue in Stevensville. For ease of reference beyond being the former home to the crew at Black Arsenal gun sales, the new salon is next to the rear entrance of the Goodwill Boutique downtown.

You can’t miss the distinctive and stylish sign both above the entry and also laminated onto the door glass and they hope you’ll seek them out for their formal Grand Opening and ribbon cutting ceremony with the team from the Bridgman CGA Chamber team tomorrow evening, Thursday, July 27th.

Jessica says she is “focused on customizing the look that’s right for you,” and adds that “in addition to specializing in great hair, we will also provide a full line of retail products to help you maintain your look.”

A graduate of the Twin City Beauty College, Jessica’s work as a stylist and colorist is pretty much legendary with her clientele who have been known to follow her wherever she has taken up the trade including her most recent stint with Salon Fusion in South Bend. The 35-year old star is consistently rated very highly by her clients who make comments such as these:

  • “The salon is beautiful and I wouldn’t trust anyone else doing my hair! Jessica keeps up to date with all colors and style techniques! Perfect cut and color every time! Thanks Jessica!”
  • “Jessica is very talented and it shows in the hairstyles she provides and the way she has decorated her salon. Classy, cute and stylish. Been with her for 10 years now and wouldn’t trust anyone else.”
  • “I have traveled near and far for the last 15 years to get beautified by Jessica, and she never lets me down.”

Kendall Lucille Hair Company will cut the ribbon on their recently opened salon at 5:30 Thursday evening and celebrate with food, drinks and giveaways as well as offering clients and prospective clients 20-percent off retail items to commemorate the Grand Opening.

Thanks to the success of the new salon, Jessica & Matt are looking to add stylists to their staff, even for those who may be new to the industry and looking for a place to launch their career or experienced stylists in search of a change. Those who sign on will earn paid vacation time, an education fund, sales bonuses, and “tons of training opportunities and support.”

Whether you’re interested in becoming a client or joining the team you can reach Jessica’s new salon at (269) 408-8869.

Kendall Lucille Hair Company is open Tuesdays from 11am to 5pm, Wednesdays from noon until 8pm, Thursdays from 10am until 7pm, Fridays from 10am until 4pm and Saturdays from 9am until 2pm. The salon is closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Tomorrow’s Grand Opening will run from 5pm until 8pm with a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Bridgman CGA at 5:30pm.
