Although provision centers have now been open in Michigan for a few years, at Sunset Coast Provisions, we know there are still people who are not yet comfortable to walk inside one of these establishments. Our goal in this article is to answer some questions you may have about your experience when visiting a business that legally sells cannabis.
The most important thing to remember is that a provisioning center is no different than any other retail store – aside from the fact that they are more highly regulated. What does this mean for you? It means that you will experience a safe, clean, and professional environment.
When entering a provisioning center, you’ll be greeted in a separate lobby, where your information is gathered, and it is confirmed that you are at least 21 years of age. Once checked in, you are called back into the shopping area, where you’ll be paired with a Budtender. This individual is trained to answer any questions that you may have about the products and how they can best assist you with your individual needs. Due to Michigan regulation, all products are kept behind counters or in display cases, so your Budtender will be your tour guide to see all items that may be of interest to you. Be assured that they welcome any and all questions about their products.
Once you’ve selected a product that is a good fit, you’ll complete your purchase using cash only. Due to cannabis not being federally legal at this time, credit cards are not able to be utilized. After your transaction is complete, your items are placed in a bag that is sealed with your receipt on the outside of the package. Cannabis is not allowed to be used on site, so you will not need to worry about loitering or any other activity that may make you uncomfortable.
