Whirlpool supporting Possibilities at Home Internship Program

Zaria Rimpson, a junior at Wayne State University, returned to Whirlpool Corporation for her second year this summer in an internship through the P@TH program. She says she gained a wide variety of knowledge through the experience. During the 10 week internship, each intern worked on a specific project. Zaria created a social media campaign to increase engagement with employees, conducting focus group surveys, and developing a social media tool kit for some of their leaders to utilize. After graduation, Zaria says she’s interested in returning to Southwest Michigan to work for the corporation, if they offer her a role.

“I would definitely consider coming back to Whirlpool, especially after I graduate,” Rimpson said. “Even though this is my second year with this program, and even just from last year and this year, I have had two separate projects that have focused on two different areas of Whirlpool, but there are still so many different areas.”

In 2020, Whirlpool developed the P@TH internship program to build a more inclusive and diverse work environment.
