Woodland Terrace Family Expanding This Fall to Royalton Township

It was nearly a quarter of a century ago that Don and Mary Dockerty opened their first family owned assisted living facility along Red Arrow Highway in Bridgman. Today, Dockerty Health Care Services, led by their sons, Tim and Todd, owns and operates eight assisted living communities spread throughout Berrien, Kalamazoo, Calhoun and Grand Traverse counties, and the family is now adding St. Joseph to the Dockerty footprint.

Construction is well underway at the Peace Boulevard location in the St. Joseph/Royalton Township area.

The newest Dockerty Community is a licensed AFC with 20 assisted living private apartments – ranging in size from studios to two bedrooms – and 7 memory care studio apartments. The community is scheduled to open to new residents in the late fall of 2021 and is currently accepting 100-percent refundable deposits to hold an apartment until that opening.

While each Dockerty community operates fairly independent of one another based on the specific needs of the population being served, one thing remains consistent across all eight communities – a commitment to providing care and assistance encouraging the greatest sense of dignity and independence for seniors.
