The West Michigan Tourist Association (WMTA) has released the 2026 Lake Michigan Lighthouse Map & Circle Tour.

Available in both print and digital formats, the free map highlights the official Lake Michigan Circle Tour route and showcases more than 100 lighthouses and must-see attractions throughout Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana. Travelers can view or request a free copy online through WMTA.org. Copies are also available at Michigan Welcome Centers and many WMTA partner locations across the state.

Vacationers have been circling Lake Michigan for generations, but the official Lake Michigan Circle Tour route was established in the 1980s through a partnership between the Michigan Department of Transportation and WMTA. The Lake Michigan Circle Tour became the first officially signed Great Lakes Circle Tour and remains the only Circle Tour entirely within the United States.

Today, the Circle Tour remains one of the Midwest’s most iconic road trips, featuring miles of shoreline, waterfront communities, historic landmarks, and one of the region’s greatest engineering marvels — the Mackinac Bridge.

“The Lake Michigan Circle Tour continues to inspire travelers to slow down and experience the beauty, history, and hospitality found along Lake Michigan,” said WMTA Executive Director, Dave Lorenz.

The 2026 cover features the stunning Ludington North Breakwater Lighthouse, photographed by Lillian Dotzlaf as part of the 2025 WMTA Annual Photo Contest.
