The brilliant sound of a brass octet with tympani will be featured Friday (June 20) when the South Haven Performance Series opens its summer season with a concert by the Majestic Brass of Grand Rapids.
The ensemble will be making its concert debut on the lakeshore with a thrilling program spanning almost 500 years. The concert for brass and percussion will include two new, world premiere arrangements written just for this performance.
The concert will be held at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 06321 Blue Star Memorial Highway, South Haven beginning at 7 p.m. (Please note the start time is 30 minutes earlier than in past years.)
Performances are provided thanks to the support of the South Haven Community Foundation, corporate sponsors, and individual donors. A $15 admission is charged for the summer concerts while a holiday concert is presented free of charge as a gift to the community. Students are always admitted free.
Tickets are sold only on the evening of the concert.
