Cornerstone Alliance Annual Meeting Set During International Economic Development Week

Cornerstone Alliance will host its Annual Meeting on Thursday, May 7, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Union + Social in downtown St. Joseph. Tickets are now available for this  event, taking place during International Economic Development Week.

Cornerstone’s Annual Meeting will bring together business, municipal, and community leaders for a clear look at the progress shaping Southwest Michigan and the partnerships driving that momentum forward.

Attendees will engage with peers, exchange ideas, and strengthen relationships while hearing directly from local and regional leaders. The program will report on 2025 impact metrics, giving attendees a clear view of how Cornerstone’s investments and initiatives are advancing economic growth and supporting businesses across Berrien County.

“This event is an opportunity to reflect on what we’ve accomplished together and to recognize the role collaboration plays in building a strong and vibrant regional economy,” said Marla Schneider, President and CEO of Cornerstone Alliance. “Our work is only possible because of the partnerships that continue to move Michigan’s Great Southwest forward.”

Keynote speaker Matt Elliott, former President of Bank of America Michigan and founder of Blue Lake Ideas, will share practical insights from his experience leading transformation across nine states and advising executive teams. Elliott’s perspective is informed by his board service with the Detroit Regional Chamber, Business Leaders for Michigan, the Detroit Economic Club, and the Michigan Israel Business Accelerator, giving him a clear view of the forces shaping local economic growth.

The program will also feature remarks from leaders whose expertise is shaping the community’s future, including Carla Sones, Interim CEO of Southwest Michigan First, and a representative of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.

The program will include a special message from Pam Klyn, Board Chair of Cornerstone Alliance, highlighting the partnerships and collaborative spirit driving progress across the county.

Held at the intersection of International Economic Development Week and National Small Business Week, Cornerstone’said its Annual Meeting will convene entrepreneurs, businesses, investors, and community members, to recognize the collaborative work that is strengthening Southwest Michigan’s economy. The event will showcase the measurable results, offer insight from experienced leaders, and provide an opportunity to build connections that will advance both business and community growth.
