Berrien Springs Specialist Appointed by Governor to State Board of Audiology

Governor Gretchen Whitmer has announced appointments to the Michigan Board of Audiology, including a Berrien Springs Doctor, and three others who are all subject to the advice and consent of the Michigan State Senate.

Dr. Paul Judge, M.D., of Berrien Springs, is an Otolaryngologist for Spectrum Health Lakeland and serves as an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Dr. Judge is appointed to represent members licensed to practice medicine or osteopathic medicine and surgery who hold a certificate of qualification from the American Board of Otolaryngology, for a term commencing August 7, 2020 and expiring June 30, 2024. He succeeds Robert Borenitsch whose term expired on June 30, 2020.

Also appointed is Chelsea A. Conrad, Au.D., of Royal Oak, the senior staff Audiologist for Henry Ford Health System in Detroit and part time lecturer at Eastern Michigan University. She earned her Doctorate of Audiology from the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Conrad is appointed to represent audiologists for a term commencing August 7, 2020 and expiring June 30, 2024. She succeeds Sharon Blackburn whose term expired June 30, 2020.

The governor also appointed Mark A. Epolito, of Haslett, the regional sales manager for the software company Splunk, Inc. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Organizational Communication from Central Michigan University, and is reappointed to represent the general public for a term commencing August 7, 2020 and expiring June 30, 2024.

Finally, Daniel O. Seraphinoff, of Troy, an engineering technologist for Continental Automotive Systems drew a gubernatorial appointment. He holds an associate’s degree in electronics engineering technology from Macomb Community College, and is appointed to represent the general public for a term commencing August 7, 2020 and expiring June 30, 2024. He succeeds Richard Baldwin whose term expired June 30, 2020.

The Michigan Board of Audiology was enacted as part of the Public Health Code to license Audiologists who apply non-medical and non-surgical principles, methods, and procedures related to disorders of hearing. The Board promotes and protects the public’s health, safety, and welfare, and has the obligation to take disciplinary action against licensees who have adversely affected the public’s health, safety, and welfare.
