They’re renowned for their whiskey and other spirits and their event space is increasingly a red hot wedding destination, so it’s only logical that Journeyman Distillery of Three Oaks will reprise their “Weddings & Whiskey” event next month, as an encore to the inaugural event of a year ago.

On Saturday, February 2nd, Journeyman will host its second annual “Weddings & Whiskey” event, providing the public with an opportunity to browse their very popular public event spaces and connect with the region’s top event professionals.

Lindsay Tschida is Event Sales Manager for Journeyman. She says, “‘Weddings & Whiskey’ brings together our favorite vendors and our favorite beverages for a day of celebration and inspiration.” She adds, “We love the opportunity to explore trends and bring creative new ideas to brides, grooms, and event planners.”

One of the ways the Journeyman event team does this is by presenting a “Live Styled Shoot” during the event. Previous shoots have featured trends from Gothic to romantic. This year’s shoot will be conceived and styled by Marco Alexzondra Floral & Event Design of Galien.

An 11-year veteran of the wedding business, Marco is known for his creativity—bringing new ideas to the table and putting a twist on familiar favorites. He says, “I live for the WOW effect.”

Marco tells us that trends for 2019 “vary depending on who you are talking to,” and notes, “Garland continues to hold its own, but I’m noticing more tropicals sneaking into the picture. Suspended pieces are becoming less structured—wilder and airy. Brides are coming back to vivid colors and moving away from traditional white and pink.”

Marco is planning to bring that aesthetic to “Weddings & Whiskey.” While the results might be “over the top,” he encourages brides and grooms to come to the event with an open mind. He advises, “Find inspiration and ideas that can take your existing concept to the next level, or discover a whole new world and direction not previously considered.”

MAK Salon of Harbert and 430 Studio Photography of Harbor Country will lend their talents to the live styled shoot, joining the dozens of photographers, florists, artisans and top wedding professionals filling Journeyman’s rustically elegant Warren Hall and Grainery event spaces. Cocktails and beverages will be available for purchase.

Lindsay says, “Whether you are planning a wedding at one of Journeyman’s one-of-a-kind spaces or somewhere else, you won’t want to miss this unique Winter wedding event.”

“Weddings & Whiskey” will be held on Saturday, February 2nd from 1–4pm at Journeyman Distillery in Three Oaks. Tickets are $5 and available online at journeymandistillery.com. For more information email events@journeymandistillery.com.
