Just about a year ago, a comfortable little cafe and bakery opened on Church Street in downtown Coloma, born out of the success Soulard’s Sweets. Taylor (Soulard) Prestidge and her husband Matt Prestidge made the jump into more than just sweets, by making a nice space to sit and chat, grab a quick lunch, or enjoy something different among the other offerings of the Coloma/Watervliet restaurants.
As they say on their website, “In our kitchen, the mixer is almost always whirring away, and the ovens always warm. We have dedicated our days and nights to providing you with the most amazing treats you have ever experienced. Yes, experienced. Because this doesn’t just about tasting something good, it’s the entire experience from start to finish. Our commitment to you is to provide impeccable service, a friendly atmosphere and a sweet treat to indulge your senses in decadent delight. We also offer Bubble teas and Oberweis milk that come in a glass bottle fresh from the farm just like the olden days. Looking for custom cake? We do that too, actually it is what started our business! We recently added a deli menu which gives many great lunch and dinner options. Soulard’s cafe is truly your one stop shop to fill your belly with delicious food and drinks!”
Now, to celebrate their first official year in business as Soulard’s, they’re inviting you to take advantage of several “birthday presents.”
Thursday, July 25th from 5-7pm, Jenni Bush of Funny Face Face Painting will be in-house to get the kids (or adults!) a fun face-painting experience. Or, enter to win giveaways all week and into the weekend, including a chance to win a prize package for Hartford Motor Speedway. Deli purchases Thursday-Saturday get entered into drawings for other local businesses including the Loma Theatre.
“We have appreciated all of the support this last year,” Taylor tells us. The business felt it was time to give back to the community that loves them.
Coming soon, Soulard’s says they will be partnering with GrubHub for delivery of their products to your door in August, and, they’re looking to ad great new products including Nitro cold brew coffee.
