Biggest Little Baseball Museum Ready to Debut in Three Oaks

This is the kind of thing that makes guys like retired newspaper columnist Rick Ast absolutely giddy, and with the news coming on a holiday like St. Patrick’s Day, he and his friends will likely double down at The Old Croak Tavern in celebration.

Coming next month to the community of Three Oaks is the Grand Opening of what is being billed as The Biggest Little Baseball Museum, and you are invited. You’ll find the museum at 3 N. Elm Street in Three Oaks.

On Saturday, April 13th at straight up noon, the remarkable new attraction will swing open the doors to the one room museum located inside the Three Oaks Township Library, and Ast’s beloved House of David Echoes Players will make a presentation that afternoon at 1pm regarding Civil War Era Baseball, something very near and dear to their hearts.

Organizers of the new adventure says that the Biggest Little Baseball Museum is, “So big you can’t see it all in one visit, and so little you can’t get lost!” The one room museum includes exhibits and stories about everything from Town Teams like the Three Oaks Greens, the New Troy Grays, and the Lakeside Aces, to the start of Little League action in Three Oaks and a whole lot more.

Vintage equipment is neatly displayed and labeled, and visitors will be taken back to a bygone era. In addition to the special presentation at 1:00pm  on Civil War Era Baseball by members of the House of David Echoes, other celebrations will take place during the Grand Opening on the 16th.

The museum features free admission, and will always be open during regular library hours. The Grand Opening of the little museum comes in conjunction with that day’s Open House for the Library itself, celebrating 160 years of Library services in Three Oaks.

Make plans to join in the celebration and the Biggest Little Baseball Museum  Grand Opening between Noon and 2 PM,  on Saturday, April 13.  They guarantee great visits…and cake, as a bonus. You can follow the adventures of the new museum online by following them on Facebook at the link below:
