Five Lakeshore High School Graduates Earn 4.0 GPAs at Michigan State University

Five graduates of Lakeshore High School have achieved one of the highest academic honors at Michigan State University, earning perfect 4.0 grade point averages and receiving the prestigious Board of Trustees’ Award for academic excellence.

The honored graduates include: Caroline Beckrow, Myah Frazier, Vaughn Hurdle, Sophie Samuel, and Rileigh Belle Wine.

These students were among just 315 graduates across the university to earn a 4.0 GPA, placing them in an elite group recognized for exceptional academic performance, discipline, and intellectual achievement

Caroline Beckrow earned dual degrees in social relations and policy from James Madison College and human biology from Lyman Briggs College and was a member of the Honors College. After graduating, she plans to pursue a medical degree and specialize in oncology.

Myah Frazier earned her degree in microbiology from the College of Natural Science and was a member of the Honors College. After graduating, she will be attending the LabCorp School of Medical Laboratory Science at Henry Ford Hospital to earn a certification in Medical Laboratory Sciences.

Vaughn Hurdle graduated with a degree in finance from the Eli Broad College of Business. After graduating, he will be working with The Home Depot in Atlanta, GA, where he has accepted a full time position as a Merchant Planner.

Sophie Samuel completed her degree in sociology through the College of Social Science. After graduating, she is taking a gap year before pursuing a master’s degree in social work.

Rileigh Belle Wine earned her degree in a BFA in acting from the College of Arts and Letters and was a member of the Honors College. After graduating she is relocating to Chicago, IL to pursue acting, directing, and intimacy directing.
