Little Caesars Love Kitchen Pays an Encore Visit to the Benton Harbor Soup Kitchen

Tomorrow will be a special day for those headed to the Soup Kitchen of Benton Harbor. Almost three years to the day since their last visit on site, the Little Caesars Love Kitchen will be dishing up fresh hot pizza for the hungry in the community of Benton Harbor.

The Little Caesars Love Kitchen will arrive at about 9:30am tomorrow, Thursday, March 21st, 2019, and set up shop on Market Street near Oak Street in the city. The Little Caesars Love Kitchen is a virtual full-sized semi truck with a complete pizza kitchen inside that travels the nation just to feed people in need like the clients of the Benton Harbor Soup Kitchen.

The team at Little Caesars actually has two of the specially fitted semis in operation so they can be of service 365 days a year. The veritable restaurants on wheels have served more than three million people to date, including two other previous visits to the Benton Harbor Soup Kitchen, the most recent of which was on March 23 of 2016.

David Scrivano is President & CEO of Little Caesars. He says, “We know that it’s important to reach out to the communities where we do business and help make a difference,” and adds, “As a family company, we are proud to work together with our local franchisees and company-owned stores to coordinate the vehicle, staff and food and to be there for the people in Benton Harbor who need assistance.”

The Love Kitchen has been recognized for its charitable efforts as well, receiving The President’s Volunteer Action Award Citation from former Presidents George H. W. Bush and Bill Clinton. The Reagan administration also awarded the Love Kitchen a Presidential Citation for Private Sector Initiatives. Additionally, the Love Kitchen has received a certificate of appreciation from the State of Michigan and was recognized by the Detroit City Council for its efforts in the Gulf Coast region. The Love Kitchen’s 30th anniversary was recognized when it was listed in the Congressional Record by U.S. Congresswoman Candice Miller, on April 30, 2015.

Little Caesars franchise owners donate the resources necessary to make each Love Kitchen serving a success. An estimated 50,000 franchisees, their employees and corporate colleagues have volunteered over the years to support the program in their local communities. Typically, local franchisees also help man the Love Kitchen on the day of each local visit, so if you’re a Little Caesar’s customer you might recognize some of your friends serving things up at the Soup Kitchen tomorrow, Thursday, March 21, 2019.
