As St. Joe Today tees up their innovative Love Local weekends on the third weekend of the month from June through September, they’re adding live music into the mix with a series of free summer concerts to help celebrate all things local.
The third weekend of the month from June through September, is set aside by St. Joe Today with an open invitation to the entire community to celebrate all things Southwest Michigan during their Love Local weekends. The new event promotes shopping locally and supporting area businesses and restaurants.
Amy Zapal, Executive Director of St. Joe Today, says, “Businesses will be offering everything from extended shopping hours, free gift wrapping, new products, featured menu items, specials and more.” Extended hours include Friday and Saturday from 10:00a-8:00p and Sunday from 12:00p-4:00p. The Friday Night Concert Series returns this summer on the Friday nights of Love Local weekends. The free, hour-long concerts will be held at the John E.N. Howard Bandshell.
- June 18th – PastTime at 7:00p
- July 16th – Lake Effect Jazz Big Band at 7:00p
- August 20th – Jared Knox & The Hager Bombs at 7:00p
- September 17th – The Backups at 7:00p
Zapal says, “The bandshell has both bench and lawn seating, so it’s an awesome place for all ages to experience the joy of listening to live music,” and adds, “Concertgoers can get take-out food from a variety of restaurants and enjoy a light dinner or sweet treat.”
