More Than 500 Degrees to be Delivered at 2019 LMC Commencement Sunday

If you’re longing for a solid measure of unbridled joy, you rarely have to look much farther than the Mendel Mainstage on Graduation Day at Lake Michigan College’s Benton Harbor campus. You can see it clearly on display in the photo accompanying this story on Moody on the Market from the 2018 graduation ceremonies.

It will undoubtedly happen again this weekend, when Lake Michigan College will host its 72nd annual commencement exercise at 2 pm on Sunday, May 5th at The Mendel Center Mainstage.

In fact, a total of 485 students will receive 505 degrees and certificates, including two bachelor’s degrees, 463 associate degrees, 29 advanced certificates, two certificates of achievement and 14 certificates of completion.

This year’s class includes 78 early college students who are simultaneously earning a high school diploma and an associate degree. That’s nearly double the 42 early college graduates in the event in 2018.

One-hundred-fifty-eight students are graduating with honors, 45 with high honors and 23 with highest honors.

The soon-to-be Lake Michigan College graduates range from 20 different countries, 13 states and 79 high schools.

The ceremony also includes students who graduated in Summer 2018, Fall 2019 and Spring 2019 semesters.

Those who cannot attend the ceremony in person can watch a live stream via LMC’s YouTube channel or Facebook page. Learn more by clicking the link below:
