Officials with Sturgis Bank have announced a series of employee promotions, including leadership advancements tied to the bank’s St. Joseph and South Haven operations.
Among the promotions approved by the bank’s Board of Directors during its annual meeting was the advancement of Nicholas Barber to Vice President and Retail Sales Manager. The bank also promoted South Haven native Heather Scruggs to Assistant Vice President and Mortgage Originator. Scruggs originally worked for the bank in the 1990s before returning in 2020 in mortgage lending. In addition to her banking work, she has served as an ambassador for the South Haven Area Chamber of Commerce and was named the chamber’s Volunteer of the Year in 2022.
Other promotions announced by the bank include:
- Bridget Mayer to Chief Human Resources Officer. Mayer joined the bank in 2023 and recently completed an MBA in Human Resource Management through Trine University.
