The Market Open In St. Joseph

There’s a new marketplace open in downtown St. Joseph. In fact, it’s called The Market. It’s an indoor, year-round farmers market that currently includes eight food and drink related businesses, all with custom made spaces inside of 301 Main Street. The Market was founded by Rick Molitor and Deb Sailor, who had the building renovated to make way for the businesses. The Market opened last month, and St. Joseph Today’s Amy Zapal tells WSJM News it’s exciting to see the development on the east side of downtown.

“The Market just adds one more thing – well, I guess eight more things – to the east side of Main Street,” Zapal said. “Hopefully, that drives additional traffic, additional investment in our community. St. Joseph Today is always interested in what investment happens here, and that’s not just a new building or a new business, but it’s the revenue that’s driven from people visiting.”

Zapal says she’s also glad to see the building fixed up. The Market includes Dad’s Farm and Cafe, The Tea Annex, Infusco Coffee, St. Joe Community Taproom, St. Joe Wine Shoppe, Wild Ginger Flowers, and The Cheese Lady. They’re planning a grand opening for the near future, once all of the finishing touches to the building are done.
