On Friday, January 27th, 2023 two new, established businesses in Dowagiac, Flowers By Anna, at 111 Commercial Street, and MonaCo Cleaning Services, at 102 Commercial Street, will be celebrated!
The occasion will be commemorated with a Ribbon Tying ceremony, which “symbolizes the interdependence of business owners, the community, and the Chamber of Commerce and City of Dowagiac.” The opposite of a ribbon cutting, the tying of a ribbon demonstrates the interwoven support and reinforcement small businesses bring, and require to thrive.
“The Dowagiac Chamber of Commerce has been an amazing resource,” says Mona of MonaCo Cleaning Services. “As a young and first time business owner, the knowledge and support that have been offered by seasoned business owners has been invaluable.”

“Dowagiac offers an amazing central location throughout southwest Michigan,” Mona says. “It allows us to service a large area relatively easily, not to mention the community and support (Dowagiac) offers to small businesses.”
Flowers By Anna opened in Buchanan in 2016, and quickly began to outgrow their storefront. In July of 2022, Anna purchased the former Booth’s Country Florist space in Dowagiac, and after months of renovation, her second location welcomed customers with open arms.
In addition to special occasion arrangements and adorable home decor, the Dowagiac Flowers By Anna location offers a gorgeous Flower Bar, where customers can DIY their own bouquets. “We showcase different varieties of each type of flower we have for the week, out in the shop for customers to see. Pick out flowers by the stem and create your own bouquet, or have one of our professionals design an arrangement for you! A fun experience for any age!”
